Playing some Wow again

I didn't like the Star Wars game so much so I activated my WoW account for another month. It was almost 6 months not played so I was confused a bit at first about my characters' abilities and such. Tried to do a few dailies with my warrior and went into my arms spec but forgot to switch out of defensive stance, so I had a shit-fit wondering where my Colussus smash has gone. Stuff like that, lol. I had purple 'singing war axe' or something like that from BC era that some transmorging dummy paid 9k for. Sold a blue pattern for 900g, somebody else was trying to get 6k for the same one. I could not imagine why anybody would pay 6k for a blue pattern this late into Cata. The fact they are going to give away Diablo 3 with a 1-year commitment to Wow had something to do with my decision. I am not sure if I want Diablo 3, but, it got me thinking about Wow a little bit and I was bored. I made a troll druid for no sensible reason and got high enough to get cat form(lvl 8). But I already have an 85 druid so I doubt I will stick with that. Basically just kinda slumming.

  1. Made a big mistake buying some swift lovebirds to sell later. I don't participate in the "Love is in the Air" holiday event so I did not realize the event does not end after Valentine's Day. In fact, it goes on for 5 more days afterwards. So the price is dropping way, way lower than what I paid for 4 of them. Oops.

  2. Well we will see if I destroyed my money or not. I now only have 5k cash. I have 7 swift lovebirds, 2 hyacinth macaws, 1 tiny emerald whelping, and 1 captured firefly in the guild bank. The lovebirds I paid a total of 140k for. the macaws I paid 35k for. The firefly and whelping I farmed. The lovebirds I hope to just break even on (I admit I screwed up). The pets I am keeping as anti-inflation for Pandaria release. Rare vanity pets have increased dramatically in value with each expansion. I bought a hyacinth macaw in BC for only 600 gold. Now they sell for 10-25k. I expect them to be 35k+ after Pandaria. Better than leaving the gold sit in the bank I think, but we will see. Probably I have violated some law of profits by spending all my gold.

  3. 10 swift lovebirds. No more! I will continue to sell bags and truegold, further long-term investments will be in vanity pets that players are selling too cheap. No more lovebirds. The 2 still on the auction house have raised their price to 15-20k so this gives me hope. Hopefully my hoarding of this item will create an illusion of scarcity further down the line. I will sell them one at a time starting hopefully around the time Pandaria releases. I anticipate after Diablo 3 comes out, there will be a period of inactivity in WoW in which it will be very hard to sell things. That might be a good time to leave the account inactive.

  4. Well I really lost it. I have 12 swift lovebirds now in my guild bank. Either I will get wealthy off of them in about 6 months, or maybe I will make a "Culling of the Lovebirds" Youtube video in celebration of the end of Wow. On the extra-bright side, I just bought another Singing War Axe for 150 gold earlier today - yes the same that I sold for 9k a few months ago. Been playing a gnome warlock on the side but he is a pain in the ass. I forgot what it's like to be squishy, and not have fast flying still at lvl 73 (but I am almost there). Somebody invited me to Ring of Blood in Nagrand then started bragging that he out-dpsed me on the last guy(Mogor I think was his name), didn't know we were having a dps contest. I think it's pretty strange running recount on an outdoor quest mob. Probably will avoid that person in the future.
